Productive Day.

It is done. I did it. Danny and I got all our remaining groceries for my batch cooking late last night as well as bought the rest of the stuff for my homebirth kit.

This morning I woke knowing I had to tackle those meals today. We put on a movie for the toddlers, deep cleaned the kitchen and away we went. Jessica and I managed to get 3 - 9x13 of veggie lasagna, 4 - 9x13 of Cheesy Chilada Bake, 4 bagged meals of Cashew Chicken Stir Fry, 4 bagged meals of Sweet Asian Chicken, 2 9x13 of Arie's Sweet and Sour Meatballs, 2 9x13 of BBQ Drumsticks and 6 bags premixed topping for our canned apple cobbler dessert. Whew. That and the box of corndogs I bought totalled 20 freezer meals. I NEVER could have done it without Jess, she is the marinade queen. Only one vegetable lasagna ended up face down one the floor next to the garbage can, our only fatality. Pretty good.

My favorite cookbooks. Well, one is stolen...but she hasn't asked so why offer?

Jessie shredding 12C of cheese. There seemed to be a cup missing,
we aren't sure what happened there. Hmmm....
I also was able to get all my baby boy clothes out of storage, sorted and either soaking or washed. Everyone was ooohing and ahhhing over the itty bitty onsies!

For my lunch break(my hubby was home today) I ran to Second Chance and found a good book for .25. I really need a refresher course on parenting, it is a forever learning process isn't it?! I get so disappointed in myself as I know what is right, but do not practice it. My biggest enemy is my own flesh. I read over this blog and think wow, I got a lot done today. Work HAS to be done, but what matters is HOW I preformed that work. Did I throw a fit when my lasagna was dropped on the floor?...yes. Was I patient and put the children first even in the midst of a busy day?...not as much as I could have. Did I serve my family a wonderful meal after all that cooking today? Nope, they got Cheerios. It isn't how much work is done or how we *appear* to others, it is truly if we glorified the Lord during our work. Cindy, Marie, Kristine, Julie, Leslie, Chessa, are just a few, you guys inspire me so much. You have all these little ones(or older ones) and honor your husbands, manage you homes SO well and bless others with your kindness daily. You give us examples to live by and truly live out Titus 2.

My puppy dog.
Please don't email me about proper hygiene in the home. I could have chosen NOT to blog this pic, but it was just too funny. Jess dropped cheese and WHAM! Gracie was on that one!

Did I mention she likes the camera?

Pssst, Marie. Look!!
I DID THIS, by myself!
Granted my technique is terrible and it took me forEVER to do this, but I did it.
Purling is the worst.
R U up for a quick lesson after church Sunday?

Well, I *think* someone has asked for the cookbook in question back LOL! If you need any help with knitting, give me a holler :) I'd be more than happy to help you. I do agree that purling is a bit harder than knitting. I made LOTS of dish clothes and that got me learning to purl much better. You did a great job though! You might want to consider shorter needles. If you bribe your friend with the promise of a chat and a cold glass of water, she'd be happy to share some out of her stash. ;)

WOW!!! You are one superwoman and don't say 'Pshaww!!!'. I marvel at your patience (when you say you don't have any!) and what a good mom you are to your kids and I wish I could turn back the clock and redo 'my kids at home days' with the lessons I have learned from you in that department!! And I love to knit and crochet too so keep those shoes on and walk over sometime and I too would be happy to guide you in that department. I also noticed in the picture that Jess was using a steel grater -- come borrow my Salad Shooter!! It is wonderful for grating cheese and carrots, etc! No more skinned knuckles!! Jess, you are a great girl! Don't ever change!
I'm getting teary!!! Goodnight!
Love - your pesky neighbor!

Jennifer, I think you are your family is amazing. Do I ever lose my patience? Everyday. And more often than note it is over petty little things like how fast they are doing their school work or leaving a coat on the floor or shoes in the middle of the room. Sometimes I feel like they'd be better kids if they went to school and weren't around me as much and then I get selfish and say that I love them too much to send them to school. Motherhood is fraught with guilt and peace. Never compare because you have no idea what someone is like behind closed doors. I find myself comparing all the time and think that I'm the worst mother but asking the kids they don't see it. I love their patience with me. Sorry for the long comment. Love your post.

Jennifer, Way to go, girl! I love when God blesses with a burst of energy, enthusiasm and wherewithall to get a big project like all that cooking done. I enjoy watching how He tenderly cares for us.

I adore that pic of Gracie!!! I'm so glad that you posted it!

And your knitting looks terrific! You are doing a great job and that yarn is such pretty colors-it inspires me to knit, just looking at it. Yarn does that to me, inspires me by just sitting there looking gorgeous.

I started by knitting hats on circular needles. Knit, knit, knit, that's all I did for 20 hats. Then I learned to purl. It was terrible. I hated the purling part. Thankfully, time does heal knitting wounds. :o)
Hugs, friend!!
