Buck Toothed Monkeys.

"Mommy did you know my money has buck teeth?"
This is what I woke to this morning.
He was sitting on my bed eeeeearly this morning feeding his stuffed monkey a carrot.

I woke chuckling. Then I got a kick out of him again when we had this conversation.

Miker "Mamma? I know what I am going to be when I grow up. Emma and I are going to be cowboys.
Mamma? Can you be a cowboy and ride an elephant, not a horse?"

Mamma "Well, I guess."

Miker "Because I'm going to ride an elephant. I am going to put reigns around him and a saddle on him(showing me with large movements of his hands and arms as if wrapping them around a LARGE beast). I will put my lunch on two packs on his sides and I will call him RoOocky! He will be my elephant and I will be a cowboy.

Mamma "Are you going to wear a cowboy hat?"

Miker "No, I will wear an army hat and an army suit."

Me "Why won't you wear a cowboy hat?"

Miker "Because I like army hats better. I will take a knife and keep it in my pocket and if bad guy tries to get me I will take care of him."

We will call him Hannibal today.

My little Isaac Newton

119_2934

Danny, Danny. This child makes us scratch our head more than any other. He is such a hoot, he defiantly breaks the mold for our family. Danny is the one who bared two wires, at age 7, plugged in the other end and touched both wires on stunned flies crawling on the windows….making them do “donuts”. BTW, he never shocked himself after doing this many times over. He has a very keen sense for danger, even though he flirts with it regularly he rarely gets hurts. He is the one who will don rubber boots and grab the electric fence because he read in a book how one becomes an insulator. He is also the one who must eat the wild bird he kills, after carefully dissecting them and identifying parts as he goes. He aces his schoolwork without much instruction, is the first one done with no complaining and most jobs he does are done almost OCD-like. ;)

ANYHOW, Daddy had a few old bottle rockets from way back when and allowed the children to set some off outback. Daniel was fascinated and blew up all kinds of objects. But still he reeeeally wanted to hold one and watch it up close to his eyes as it went through it’s stages of whistling and then blowing up. He asked if he could wear Daddy’s welding gear and hold some….Daddy obliged.

He was thrilled to hold the first bottle rocket and light it off in his hand. After noticing the big thick gloves DID work, he became more brave, held the stick and didn’t let go this time. He watched it blow up right in his hand!

Then he grasped the rocket in his palm as tight as he could and let it explode in his fist, much to his dismay, when held tight, they just gave a little pop.

Then came a question only Daniel would ask. “Daddy? Can you light one off of my head and I can be a human cannon?” So here is my human cannon firing cannon balls. This kid cracks me up!

Ma'gun

So....who remembered it was Valentines day first this morning? You or your hubby? This is always a little game we play. Who remembers first? I did this morning. I was in the bathroom doing my hair(and Emmas & Gracies & Micah's...) when it hit me. Yes! I got him! I ran in, kissed him on the cheek and wished him a HVD, he slapped his leg and admitted defeat. Then we both looked at each other and said "What did you get me?" Jokingly, of course.

I am not one that expects a gift or throws a hissy fit when my man doesn't spoil me. There is nothing worse than your woman throwing a fit because she thinks too highly of herself. I was there, that is how I know! I ruined many special days by throwing pity parties. The last thing I want is to pass that onto my daughters.

After everyone heard us talking about it, it spurred the realization for the children. The kitchen was full of gushy pandemonium as everyone was making sure they hugged and kissed and wished HVD to each sibling and parent(that's 72 combinations fyi)....making us 5 more minutes late for church .

Ma'Gun

My man isn't a romantic, at least when it comes to Valentines Day. He doesn't like being forced into buying me a gift or even a card when he can just say what he wants to say and get it done. He does treat me extra special for the day, that is nice. ;)

This year was extra special because he DID get me something, AND it was ROMANTIC...in a guy sort of way. He got me ma'gun. I do not like guns, but I do like pretty things. My husband has wanted me to have a hand gun. I haven't' wanted anything to do with it. We have gone back and forth for some time now. Well...he put two and two together, he is one smart guy. My niece got this Lavender Lady gun by Charter Arms and it was, well....it was pretty. It was so pretty that it appears I said I could own a gun like that...though I am not a lavender type of lady. ;) Sorry Em.

So what does hubby do? He waits until Valentines Day and bought me a .38 special RED Lady gun. It is even a revolver, cool huh? I know what your thinking....all those children and a handgun? Don't worry, I have a brain.

Ain't it cute?

Isn't that just the sweetest thing?!
P.S. Waiting for tax refund...need a new camera, hence the lack of pictures.
