Goats, Spring & Pump Jacks

Nice title...I am not in a creative mood today okay?

Blossoms, blossoms and more blossoms. The pear, apples and peach(above) trees are ready to burst with blooms. The Peonies are shooting up, as are the lupine, daisies and rhubarb!

Have I mentioned lately that I love my goat? I do. Junie seems genuinely interested in what I have to say, she gives kisses and snuggles when I visit her in the barn. I never thought these dumb farm animals had this much personality, but if I could house train her, I'd bring her in the house.

This picture does Junie NO justice, this goat is packing an army in there, I swear. I will be surprised if she has less than 10 babies or 2 that weigh 20lbs each.

We are doing the Youth Fair this year...yippee!! Jacob and Emma are both doing chickens. Above is Jacobs roo "Buddy" we got from a friend last Fall. He came from a roo we bred and sold years ago so he is special to us! He is not even a year, yet he stands about 2 feet tall. Emma is bringing her good old cochin bantam hen "Stacy". Emma looooOOOooooves chickens and is eagerly waiting to go.
Danny, of all things, choose meat sheep, lol! He will team up with another boy, get a sheep to borrow, and learn about meat sheep...sheep and goats are kinda close to the same animals right? O.k., no they're not, but he wants sheep so we will give it a try.
Jessica is going to take photography! I was surprised that she chose this, you go girl.
Here I thought how much I'd LOVE for one of them, if not ALL of them, to take diary goats, who woodathunk? I wonder if they allow 35yr old women to join?

Pump jacks. The boys were busy building with Daddy today. Paul got some pump jacks to use as scaffolding and put the boys on the job. They each had a pump jack to...well...pump. Aaaaall the way up, then aaaaaall the way down. They love their new toy and Daddy his new elevator.

The window you see is supposed to be installed in the hole it is passing through. Hmmm...Daddy got it up there and thought..hmmmm...he must have mismeasured so now we will NOT be having that window in there after all. ;)

Is that your house they're working on?

Yes, it is our home. We are adding on two large bedrooms and a large living upstairs, one for the boys, one for the girls and a big living room so we can have your family over! ;)

Life out at your house is so exciting to me...Seems like we do nothing all day compared to your little ranch! :o) If Paul ever needs an extra set of hand or a strong back tell him to give Josh a call. We don't have a whole lot going on right now :o)
