You're invited...

...to our first(annual?) Frog Night at the J's,. If you are up for a cold, possibly wet night, but a whole lot of frog catching dress your children warm bring a net and a bucket and come Pacific Chorus Frog catch'n with us. How that for a run-on sentence?!

Pacific Chorus Frogs are our state's amphibian and a wonderful little creature they are! They change colors according to their environment. Around here they are a brilliant green in the summer while hiding in my dahlia leaves and right now they are fat-n-brown. All the froggies in the pond are mating right now so you may want to figure out your way of explaining why the frogs are playing leap frog.

If anyone wants to come a hunt'n arrive around 7pm and we will walk out in the field to the pond. It is much fun to catch them in buckets then just sit and watch them, hold them while they croak, identify males and females and get a good close look.

Wednesday, March 10 - 7 pm - RSVP please so if we get unexpected heavy rain, we will call/blog to cancel.

Like I said, they are mating and laying eggs so we discourage taking froggies home with you. We will be serving Pacific Chorus Frog cookies, juice and hot tea in the barn!
**side note - IF we are lucky we will find a bullfrog. We have found them around the pond this time of year and our last one weighed 1lb 4oz! That's a BIG scary frog.

This sounds like so much fun. I would love to come and was already to rsvp. Good thing I looked at the calender though because Samantha has a violin concert. Happy frog hunting! Maybe a different time we can join you for an adventure.
