Go Sock?

This is the epitome of why I blog.

I don’t know whether to think there is something wrong here or to rejoice my children are enjoying their housework. IMG_0262

About five minutes ago I walked into the living room where the children were asked to sort and fold socks. They were playing Go Fish….with socks. And it was working. At the moment Jacob is ahead and Daniel is asking if someone has a “dirty looking clean sock with a blue ring around the top”.

The socks are almost sorted so I guess I can’t complain. This game was Jessie’s brainchild one day when she had laundry basket FULL of socks and manipulated her siblings into playing her *game* I LOVE it!

I just found you from Renee's blog. I LOVE this idea! We have laundry folding "parties" and this would fit right in!

Jessie is brilliant! Why didn't I ever think of this? I'm going to try it tomorrow on my unsuspecting, gullible kids:)

That's hilarious. I gave up on socks years ago. We buy some and everyone shares them when necessary only (I try to avoid necessary and since we live in Central Texas, it's mostly possible). cute!!

Oh goodness, hilarious, my boys actually play a game called "Pick a Nickel" that my husband invented. About once a week, we take all of the random socks that have been "extras" in that week's loads and dump them in the middle of the kitchen floor, and it's a free-for-all! The kids all dive in and are frantic to make matches. Once nobody can find any more, they take turns "turning them in" to the parents (to get their match verified) and then we pay them a nickel for each correct match. They love to see who walks away with the most money!

ps--I found you through Renee's blog, too!

I think I will have to try this. We always have an abundance of socks to match and it's a chore no one likes.

:-)

A single friend popped over the other day and found me seated on the floor, surrounded by socks while I matched. She said, "Wow, all those white ones are scary." She even snapped a picture and put it on Facebook because she found me drowning in a sock pile very amusing! LOL!

(btw, I came over at my friend Heidi's recommendation!)
