Operation Red Flag

You all remember our big trip this last Fall to California? One of our stops was to the Evergreen Aviation Museum and we saw this amazing movie called Fighter Pilot in Imax. The children had never been to am Imax film and it was truly amazing. It is not your average film on fighter pilots with huge egos and rock music, it is a non-fictional account of a world wide training exercise that really takes place in Nevada with hundreds of aircraft *fighting* each other. True enemies from all different countries.

Anyhow wives, sisters, I highly recommend watching this movie on Hulu(Free!). The men in your family will like it and I bet you will too. We were excited to find it there and sat down with a big batch of kettle corn and hot apple cider and watched it last night. Even on the little computer screen it just thrilled us! You know how fighter pilot films are usually set to heavy metal music? This one is set to classical! Yay! We enjoyed that aspect. There is a deep sense of respect for those who have died for our county. Excellent. Not Christian, but very clean.

Our review warning- One 5 sec scene of a military man and woman celebrating and obviously drinking a beer and the man who the documentary is on believes his grandpa's spirit is protecting him, though it is all subtle and easily explainable to the little ones.
