One last political post, for now...
Barack is on the throne. Remember, this is no surprise to the Lord, he caused it to happen for His purposes. Though it bothers us to see a man like him soon to take control of our country, we must be in subjection to him, pray for him, honor and not curse him. Does God have limited control? Is He
disappointed? Should we be worried and upset? I am hearing so much groaning from those around me and rightfully so! Last night I found a few scriptures for thought for those who are struggling with the outcome. Please email me with others you have found, I am
making a compilation.
Jer 17:-9 "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD And whose trust is the LORD. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green,
And it will not be anxious in a year of drought Nor cease to yield fruit.
"The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?
Dan 2:37 "You, O king, are the king of kings, to whom the God of heaven
has given the kingdom, the power, the strength and the glory;, and wherever the sons of men dwell, {or} the beasts of the field, or the birds of the sky, He has given {them} into your hand and
has caused you to rule over them all.”
Dan 21:1 "It is He who changes the times and the epochs;
He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding. It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.”
Prov 21:1 “The
king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD;
He turns it wherever He wishes.”
Jer 27:6 God calls the king “His servant”.
Acts 17:26 ” and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;”
Ps 155:3 “But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.”
Amo 4:13 “For behold, He who forms mountains and creates the wind And declares to man what are His thoughts, He who makes dawn into darkness And treads on the high places of the earth, The LORD God of hosts is His name.”
Ex 22:28 "You shall not curse God, nor curse a ruler of your people.”
1 Tim 2:1 “First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority,”
Rom
13:1 “Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.”
Rom 8:28 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
And lastly my favorite…
Psalm 146 “Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, O my soul!
I will praise the LORD while I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
Do not trust in princes,
In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.
His spirit departs, he returns to the earth;
In that very day his thoughts perish.
How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
Whose hope is in the LORD his God,
Who made heaven and earth, The sea and all that is in them;
Who keeps faith forever; Who executes justice for the oppressed;
Who gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets the prisoners free.
The LORD opens {the eyes of} the blind;
The LORD raises up those who are bowed down;
The LORD loves the righteous;
The LORD protects the strangers;
He supports the fatherless and the widow,
But He thwarts the way of the wicked.
The LORD will reign forever,
Your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise the LORD!
